My Classes: I hope that my classes provide a space to unravel. I view and teach yoga through a tantric lens, a practice of full embodiment finding the capacity to feel every tension, blockage, and pleasure, be it through sound, stretching or stillness. There are always options and encouragement to find fluidity in the practise and especially, to make it your own.
My Yoga Journey: I first found yoga at the age of 16, then began practising yoga regularly at university. It was a ‘hobby’ at this time, but I knew I wanted to create the space to dive deeper. I moved to Australia with this as a key focus and fell in love! I was practising every day and taking courses to learn more about the ‘other-than-asana’ aspects. I realised that all the people I admired the most were my yoga teachers. I was keen to grow in their direction, so I decided to train to be a teacher myself.
My Credentials: I trained with Byron Yoga Centre in Australia over the course of a year. I gained my 300hr certification in 2016 then continued to acquire 800 hours of certified training in 2017, studying yogic philosophy, women’s health, pre & post-natal yoga, yin, restorative, trauma-aware, remedial, chair yoga, ayurveda, chakra systems, anatomy, physiology and much more. I have since gained another 21 hours in Prana Vinyasa with Shiva Rea, 50 hours in Subtle Practices with Rose Baudin, Bess Prescott and Tahl Rinsky, 25 hours in Teaching Yoga to Support Mental health with Maria Kirsten, 85 hours Pregnancy Training with Sally Parkes and 50 hours Advanced Sequencing with Creature Yoga. I have also completed a scholarship in The History of Yoga facilitated by James Mallinson, Mark Singleton and other leading experts.
